Hello folks, A guy I know who doesn't have a computer has recently been informed that he has a child in another country and he wants to consider a paternity test before anything else. Does anyone know what is actually involved, and the costs etc so I can let him know. if you can help please post the info here so others can share in it, or please send a private message. any help no matter how big or small will be appreciated.

The bare minumum is blood samples from both child and parent for comparison. beyond that, I have to claim a Shultz.

Hi folks. It must be hard for a guy to ask for a paternity test but you wouldn't really know how hard until you have those doubts yourself. It would be even harder to be involved in a childs life, believing that you are it's father for even a minute, then to find out you are not. There is a hell of a lot to consider. You have to consider the childs position. You have to question the mothers morals. not to mention the costs financially physically and emotionally. Or you have to live with your doubts. You cannot make an informed decision without knowing ALL of your options first. the more information you can get, the better.
I haven't had an update on this one but have forwarded on all the info from posts, emails and calls to this guy and I thank you all for your help.

Hang in there
Chris

This would be a true traged for both the father and the child. It's almost as hard to comprehend as the loss of a child.

I don't think I'd stop loving the child after years of being their father but I would certainly hate the mother.

It should be considered a crime and the father and child/ren should be compensated for the pain caused by the mothers in these situations.

Hey spike...re DNA

I probably shouldn't be on line tonight, I'm really ill with Depression......don't want sympathy, just to share. Comes and goes. Laughing Laughing Wink when it goes!

ONTO A MORE IMPORTANT TOPIC... I found the magizine, and its article on DNA Testing....the comment
" it would be like losing a child".....helped!

The article is a sad one, though it may be helpful to him.
It is in July 16 2006 'Sunday LIFE' magazine from the Sunday Sun Herald. Can post it to you , private address via
