Research Study
SERVICE RESPONSES TO SUICIDAL MEN
Many men have come into contact with mental health services after attempting or thinking
about suicide.
In this research study, we want to talk to such men about the quality of these contacts:
What worked well? What did not work well? What could be improved?

If you are a man in the 27-49 year old age range and two [2] to five [5] years ago you came into
contact with mental health services after attempting or thinking about suicide, we would like to
talk with you.
We want to conduct a one [1] hour interview with you about your service experiences

Your confidentiality will be respected at all times.

At all times you retain the right to withdraw your consent to participate.

It is the aim of this research study to contribute to the knowledge about how mental health
services respond to suicidal men in the hope that such services might be improved.
Participation in this research study is not suitable for those men who have been acutely mentally
unwell at any time during the past six [6] months.
