You can self represent Raych but like I said it just increases the stress, many of the family court sites now have information on self representation and more people are doing this because of the cost, you may also want to try the path of mediation but all they can do is offer mediation they can't force it.
The only aspect that CSA may be able to assist with is paternity although it is expensive and at your cost.
The other option is to approach someone like child services and request them to make contact, as far as this goes they may be willing to pass a letter to the childs mother but again they can't force things.
The only one who can is Family Court but they will consider every aspect and deem what is in the childs best interest which may or may nor be of help.
You roll the dice and take your chances but we do this everyday with everything we do.
There are also examples of how to draw up Court documents on some sites, you may also see if a community law set up is available in your area.
Because of the complexities involved in FL cases lawyers can be over zelouse with fee's etc, they charge in 15 min increments and do just the right amount to get the job done.
Check out self representation or self represented litigants sites as well as family law court site, some sites have extremely helpful members but it will still demand a lot of hard work and upset and just so you know $500 is cheap and it sucks.
