Hi Yangebup and welcome.

You've given limited information so I can only assume it's the one used by C.S.A. to prevent a person from leaving the country because of outstanding debt, i do recall reading of a members efforts to appeal this to attend matters in N.Z. I believe he was successful but it was a battle and a half.

If you search Departure Prohibition Order making sure you tick Aus only it will list sites, in there is one pertaining to your questions with in the CSA this should clarify everything and also reference clauses and laws in regards to D.P.O.'s

Thanks D4E for your reply.

I have had a look at the CSA site and their explanation for DPO's. Thank you

Knowing this forum is most probably viewed by the CSA " for training purposes" i am reluctant to go into further detail other than to say I'm curious as to how much effort the CSA put into ensuring paying parents pay as much as possible to minimise the governments family benefits liability. They are, after all, purely there to act as a debt collection agency.
I see they boast on their website that the government has given them another $143 million to " investigate" paying parents minimising their taxable income and the like. As I work overseas and am a non resident for tax purposes it would be somewhat inconvenient to be stopped by a DPO.

If I can buy you a coffee sometime, I would be only to pleased to do so.

Regards

Yb

A ten score years ago I would have said yes as I lived not far from you, since a few moves ago I headed down to deliverance country in the deep dark south.

And yes you are right a D,P,O, would negate it's use if it stopped you working, you could try open negotiation with C.S.A. if this situation does arise. you may be able to come to an agreement.

By the way just because it's destructive to the situation it does not mean they won't carry it through and still charge capacity to earn as well so do some thinking and if you get a chance have a look at Family Law Web Guide.

Although DID's is the best site on the net for support we do not have the capacity to provide the best legal resources, hey you can't be the best of everything Wink

You are right to only talk about what you are comfortable and now we can help, support and chat about anything you'd like.

best of luck D4E
